Justin Brown: 2009 SciTech Scholarship winner

Congratulations to Justin Brown, the first recipient of our Science and Technology award of $500. Justin is pursuing his science interests by taking the Honours Major Theoretical Physics programme at the University of Guelph.

While at Port Credit, Justin distinguished himself in many ways. He won first prize in the Peel regional robotics competition and was a co-developer along with some classmates, of a cost-effective Smart Board technology for teachers. This Smart Board is an electronic tool that allows teachers to use the projected image of their computer screen as a touch screen.

In addition to his love of physics, Justin is also a keen athlete, doing very well in cross-country skiing and wrestling at PCSS, as well as skiing and snowboarding outside of school.

Showing an artistic side as well, Justin was a member of the chamber strings and orchestra programme and was Musician Of The Year at Port Credit. He is also a member of the Mississauga Youth Orchestra. All in all, Justin is a very well-rounded and intelligent student.

The members of the PCSS Alumni Committee wish to congratulate Justin on his academic achievements at Port Credit, and wish him much success in his future endeavors.
