School Fire – 1956

The October 1956 Fire

In the early hours of Thursday October 18, 1956, a fire started in Port Credit High School. Despite a rapid reponse from the fire department, the fire quickly engulfed much of the school, and damage was extensive.

The following are a few sample photos. We have a complete photo gallery, available on the PCHS/PCSS Archives CD, which is over twice as large and includes extensive local newspaper coverage.
