2008 Scholarship Winner - Huda Al-Imari

Huda Al-Imari: 2008 Scholarship winner

The Port Credit Alumni Association is pleased to announce that the recipient of our $650 Alumni Scholarship for 2008 is Huda Al-Imari.

During her four years at Port Credit, Huda participated in a great number of activities. She was an executive member of the Student Activity Council, the point guard on the Varsity Girls' basketball team, the setter on the volleyball team, a member of the Varsity Girls' softball team and a member of the Cricket team. She was also a member of both the music council, the art council, the Model United Nations debate team and president of the Coffee Couse committee.

In addition to the many hours spent on school teams, Huda volunteered at the Mississauga Trillium Health Centre, assisting nurses with clerical work, and also worked assisting a pharmacist in a local pharmacy.

She also participated in the Youth Crossroads Academy training to be a youth leader who promotes social safety with the school and community, and participated in the Student Leadership Global Development Conference discussing world issues.

Incredible as it may seem, Huda still had time to achieve a very high academic average, and was accepted into the Life Sciences programme at the University of Toronto as a prelude to entering the medical programme.

The members of the PCSS Alumni Committee wish to congratulate Huda on her academic achievements at Port Credit and to thank her for her contribution to school and community activities. We wish her much success in her future endeavors.
