2018 Scholarships

2018 – Jordan Hans

For the Alumni Award for Excellence – College-Bound Recipient.

In September 2018, Jordan will be attending Humber College in the Early Childhood Education programme.  After that Jordan hopes to attend Humber-Guelph for Applied Science in Early Childhood Studies

Jordan will remember fondly attending strings camp at Camp Wahanowin in Orillia.  She will never forget her wonder teachers who were all so supportive, kind, caring, helpful and compassionate.

Jordan hopes that she will be remembered by her teachers and fellow peers as the girl who may at first, not have seen the point in studying and working hard, then  changing  to the girl who is now an enthusiastic learner, who loves education and tries her best despite the obstacles in her way.

The PCSS Alumni Association wishes Jordan all the best in her future endeavours.  We know that Jordan will represent PCSS well.

 

2018 – Hareem Syed

For the Alumni Award in Memory of Terry Garbutt – Founder of the PCHS/PCSS Alumni Association.

Hareem  is being recognized for her efforts in HOSA, the Arts Council and her volunteering at Trillium Hospital and Camilla Road Public School.

In September 2018, Hareem will be attending the University of Western in the Health Sciences programme. Hareem hopes to be remembered as someone who not shy to take on new roles.

The PCSS Alumni Association wishes Hareem all the best in her future endeavours.  We know that Hareem will represent PCSS well.

 

2018 – Jessica Tran

For the Alumni University Bound Scholarship

A life-long learner taking Mr. Knowles computer programming class completely changed Jessica’s life inspiring her to take engineering.

Jessica will be studying engineering at the University of British Columbia hoping to follow her passion for wanting to make a positive meaningful difference by solving prominent issues of sustainable energy.

Jessica hopes to be remembered for her efforts with Write for Rights and PCHacks.

The PCSS Alumni Association wishes Jessica all the best in her future endeavours.  We know that Jessica will represent PCSS well.

 

2018 – Kaitlyn Wilcox

For the Alumni University Bound Scholarship

Kaitlyn will be studying Social Work at Ryerson University.  Eventually she would like to work as a child and youth social worker in a school environment.

Kaitlyn fondly will remember her work with the school Art Department creating art and murals for PCSS.

Kaitlyn hopes to be remembered for her resilient, strong, altruistic efforts showing others that despite hardship, one can find their inner resilience and be triumphant.
